Project Description

TELLURIDE MOUNTAINFILM FESTIVAL

Held every Memorial Day weekend since 1979, Telluride Mountainfilm is a documentary film festival that showcases nonfiction stories about environmental, cultural, climbing, political and social justice issues.

Since 2001, the WaterColor community has hosted Mountainfilm on Tour—a two-night outdoor film festival dedicated to educating, inspiring, and motivating audiences about important issues. Each year the venue continues to grow and improve, although the branding remained uninspired.

Creative Solution

Our creatives worked closely with the event organizers and stakeholders to develop a symbolic logo system that could be modified to fit any size or shape while still remaining very effective. Inspiration came by way of the actual event’s lighting design, whereby each element represents the colored lighting illuminating the setting’s iconic long leaf pine trees. The campaign set a new high water mark and has remained the standard to maintain or exceed in following years.
